Part-Time Bookkeeper

Location: Delaware, Ohio (Hybrid option available)
Hours: Part-Time, 10-15 hours per week
Compensation: $20–$25 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Our mission focuses on addressing the root causes of homelessness through comprehensive case management, collaboration, and community support.
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage and oversee the financial operations of our nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency in all financial matters, enabling Family Promise to effectively serve the community.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Payroll Management: Process payroll for a small team, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Budgeting and Reporting: Assist with budget preparation and adherence and provide monthly financial reports to the Executive Director and Board of Trustees.
Grant Tracking: Monitor and track grant funds to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain financial integrity.
Compliance: Support compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, including IRS regulations and nonprofit tax filings.
Audit Preparation: Assist with annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
Education: Associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Knowledge: Familiarity with nonprofit accounting principles, including fund accounting, is a plus.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
